Churches and places of worship Chiesa di San Matteo The church of San Matteo is the parish church of Laigueglia. This is an example of religious architecture of the late Ligurian Baroque, but completely rebuilt several times during the eighteenth century. The church contains numerous works of pictorial art, almost all dating back to the seventeenth century and created by local authors. The church is attached to the oratory of Santa Maria Maddalena, which in turn preserves several works.
Churches and places of worship Santuario della Madonna delle Penne The Marian Sanctuary of Madonna delle Penne is located on the top of Capo Mele, a point closest to the island of Corsica. This was built by Catalan fishermen and takes its name from the inscription at the base of the statue Nostra Señora de la Peña, or Our Lady of the Rock.
