Grosseto, landscape of the Maremma
Grosseto is located in the famous Maremma, which is considered one of the green lungs of Italy, we find different landscapes: mountains, swamps, hills and sea, all this creates a unique landscape to visit. The city of Grosseto is located in Tuscany, it is surrounded by walls that in the past used to defend themselves from invasions, we see two doors one to the North (Porta Nuova) and one at South (Porta Vecchia).
The Cathedral is a very beautiful monument, dedicated to San Lorenzo (patron saint of Grosseto), in seeing it I remained speechless for its beauty both externally than internally, with its style, statues and paintings.
After visiting the city of Grosseto, I went to Marina di Grosseto where I walked along the sea , until you get to the port. The Port of Marina di Grosseto is called Porto della Maremma, as it is located in the central part of the Tuscany Region, ideal for enjoying a beautiful sea and together the mountains and greenery going to Grosseto city.
The port in the past was a channel, where there were numerous boats, then over the years it became the port we see today, a tourist destination. In fact, from here I visited the Uccellina Park, with a unique flora and fauna to see.
I also visited the archaeological site of Roselle and Vetulonia, where I saw the Etruscan tombs, returning to Marina di Grosseto, from here you can reach the island of Elba another wonder. The beaches are formed by very fine sand, moreover there are also pine forests with lots of greenery where you can cool off and relax.
