Cesenatico, Leonardo's canal
Cesenatico is a port town on the Adriatic coast which is 30 miles south of Ravenna.
It is located in the province of Forlí Cesena.
The canal harbour was designed by one Leonardo di Vinci in 1502 at the bequest of Cesare Borgia.
It is also home to a marine museum where you can see traditional Adriatic boats.
It is loved by cyclists and holds both an off-road and an on-road cycle event. The cyclists tend to visit the city in the spring.
