Emilia Romagna, Castell'Arquato
Castell'Arquato a village of medieval origin, in the province of Piacenza, located in a beautiful location on a low hill of the Apennines, the dominant Arda.
Lovers of historical architecture, this is the place for you! And in fact very in the village square, Piazza Matteotti, at the top of the hill, reached by steep narrow streets, are located side by side three perfectly preserved monuments from three different eras: the Collegiate, a Romanesque building of 1117, La Rocca from 1343, and the Praetorian Palace dating back to 1447.
Nearby is Grazzano Visconti, a neo-medieval complex rebuilt around a fourteenth century castle at the beginning of last century by Counts Visconti di Modrone. It consists of pretty buildings in style by 300 'and 400', placed scenically between the green.
