Candelo - Walls, towers and gates Ricetto di Candelo The Ricetto di Candelo is a fortification built in the late Middle Ages by the inhabitants of this locality. Ownership of the nobles Vialardi di Villanova, then redeemed by the Candelesi, the ricetto had the function of protecting the inhabitants and also their cultivations. The ricetto had a pentagonal plant structure and extended over an area of 13,000 square meters. Today, passing through those environments you can immerse yourself in the ancient peasant environment. Since 2002, the recipe has been part of the Club of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy certified by ANCI.
Biella - Walls, towers and gates Porta Torrazza The Porta della Torrazza was built in 1780 to replace another medieval door. Also known as the Gate of Oropa, it was created as a tribute to the Sanctuary of Oropa. In the center of the arch there is a coat of arms that was chiseled during the French Revolution.
