Passo dello Spluga

The Spluga Pass, located at 2,114 m above sea level, is one of the most important passes in the Alps, known since ancient times for its easy transit. Located on the Italian-Swiss border, it takes its name from the Latin term “spelunca” or cave, to signal the presence of caves probably inhabited by wildlife in the past, in particular bears.
