Museo Civico Archeologico
Monterubbiano
The Civic Archaeological Museum of Monterubbiano was opened in 1905 to host the numerous archaeological finds found in the area. The Museum is located at the cultural center of San Francesco, in the historic center. Inside we can admire the collection of coins by Dr. Stefano Mircoli, 500 pieces from various eras, necklaces and bibs, pendants that stand out in type and quantity.

The Tower of the Palazzo Comunale dates back to the fourteenth century. The building was built in the Romanesque-Gothic style. The Tower, also known as Torre dell'Orologio, is 29.5 meters high and has a cylindrical shape. Together with the Palazzo la Torre is the seat of the Municipality.

In the southern part of Moterubbiano it is possible to admire Porta S.Basso, known by the villagers as “Porta Vecchia”. Two other accesses to the city are represented by Porta del Pero in the north and Porta Sant'Andrea in the west, which, together with some sections of the walls, constitute the remains of the ancient circle of walls that protected the country. It was Francesco Sforza who made such fortifications between 1433 and 1446. The city wall was equipped with three fortresses that no longer exist.
