Palazzo Ricci, one of the most important in Macerata, today restored to its former glory, is home to the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation of the Province of Macerata. The Palace hosts about 350 works including painting and sculpture, of the most significant Italian artists of the century, acquired in more than twenty years by the Banking Institute with the precise intent of setting up a collection which is now configured as one of the most complete collections of contemporary art in Italy. In the beautiful dungeons, periodically, exhibitions of high cultural level are held.

The Mozzi Borgetti Library was opened to scholars on 31 March 1787. It is considered one of the largest in the region for its high volume volume, about 350,000. Finally, the library has a musical and theatrical collection where you can observe manuscripts, posters, booklets and printed music.

Torre Civica

The Civic Tower, also known as Torre Maggiore or Torre dell'Orologio, dates back to 1492. It was built by Matteo d'Ancona. After deep restorations dating back to 1653, the tower was completed. It has a height of about 64 m. The building has particular decorative architectural elements of the time. The heart of the tower is given by the beautiful clock. From the terrace of the Tower you can admire a view that includes an area that extends from the Sibillini mountains to the sea. It is now open to the public.

The Cathedral of Macerata is the episcopal church of the Diocese. Built in the fifteenth century, it subsequently underwent a renovation that transformed it into a neoclassical style. The facade features the remains of a Gothic bell tower built in 1467. Inside there are several works including a shovel depicting the Madonna and Child between Saints Antonio Abbot and Julian.

The National Library of Macerata started its activity on 1 December 1990 and is located on the mezzanine floor of the former Palace of Justice. The institute was born from the collaboration between the Ministry for Cultural and Environmental Heritage and the University of Macerata and was officially opened to the public on 11 February 1992. The library has as its book heritage about 76,000 volumes, 3,600 brochures and 340 periodicals.
