Sanremo - Churches and places of worship Cattedrale di San Siro The Cathedral of San Siro is the oldest religious building in Sanremo and one of the main examples of Romanesque architecture in western Liguria. Located in the historic center of the homonymous square, it was erected in the twelfth century. the structure contains several paintings and sacred objects of great historical and artistic value.
Sanremo - Churches and places of worship Chiesa Russa Ortodossa The best known, and most architecturally original church in Sanremo, the Russian Orthodox Church erected in 1910 on behalf of the Russian community, then numerous in Sanremo. The project, by the Russian academician Aleksej V. Scusev, was followed by the San Remo architect Pietro Agosti and the engineer Tornatore. Consecrated in 1913 and dedicated to Christ the Savior, to Saint Catherine Martyr and Saint Serafim of Sarov, it was erected in the style of that of Saint Basil in Moscow and rises on an area dominating Largo Nuvoloni at the beginning of the Empress Walk.

Sanremo - Churches and places of worship Santuario Nostra Signora D.Costa The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Coast also known as ``Madonna della Costa`` is located on a panoramic hill of the city. A place very dear to the Sanremesi, for its fame of protection from dangers and for being miraculous. In 1630 there was a reconstruction in Baroque style due to a sailor. The dome was built between 1770 and 1775. Inside we can see a decoration with marbles, stuccoes, painted frescoes and sculptures by artists: Anton Maria Maragliano, Domenico Fiasella, Cesare Procaccini and Bartolomeo Guidobono.
Imperia - Churches and places of worship Collegiata di San Giovanni Battista This church was built in 1739 on a project by the Onegliese architect Gaetano Amoretti on the remains of an ancient church. The construction was completed in 1759 and a typical Baroque Genoese style was used as demonstrated by the Latin cross plan with three naves with a dome. It was recently restored to complete damaged parts.

It was built by the architect Semeria, while the facade was designed by Giovanni Bossetti. The inside of the oratory is rectangular in shape.
Imperia - Churches and places of worship Oratorio di Santa Croce Oratory of Santa Croce was built in 1690 by Marco Aicardi, and is the home of the Brotherhood of SS. Trinity. It was built to free the Christian prisoners in possession of the Turks. On the ground floor there are false arches, which are reminiscent of those of the main colonnade. At the rear is the triangular bell tower, surrounded by a characteristic seventeenth-century tip. Inside it we find erratic sculptures, such as the Pila dell'Acqua Santa, and several illuministic frescoes.
Imperia - Churches and places of worship Oratorio di San Leonardo The Oratory of San Leonardo, also known as the Oratory of Santa Caterina, dates back to the seventeenth century. After a significant restoration especially outside, the church returned to being a historic center of Porto Maurizio and an element of great importance of the historical and archaeological heritage of Imperia. In the church you can admire the best paintings by Gregorio Ferrari of Porto Maurizio: the Death of San Giuseppe by Sebastiano Conca; the Sorrows and the purgant souls; the statue of San Domenico and a chapel inside which you can find a small museum with the artifact of the Saint.

The construction was commissioned by the Palmari family. Inside we find numerous frescoes from the 16th century, emphasizing the baroque atmosphere more. Today the building is under the management of a community of nuns, the 'Daughters of the Church'.

The church is home to the homonymous parish of the vicariate of Diano Marina of the Diocese of Albenga-Imperia. The parish, named after St. John the Baptist, was built between the seventeenth and eighteenth century and is also known by the local name “dei Corallini”, because it was erected also thanks to the proceeds of fishing for the coral. The building is considered one of the major monuments in Baroque style on the Western Ligurian Riviera.
