On the ruins an ancient basilica of the IX, the construction began in the seventeenth century. It has a Latin cross, and the interior is decorated with the neoclassical murals. The cathedral was dedicated to Santa Maria Maggiore and San Leoluca

The shrine was built between 1621-1666, and from the nineteenth century it belongs to the Order of the Capuchins. Every Friday in March, the faithful come to church to pray before the wooden cross of the Angels.
