The church of Santa Maria dell'Isola is located in the picturesque Tropea above a language of land.

On the ruins an ancient basilica of the IX, the construction began in the seventeenth century. It has a Latin cross, and the interior is decorated with the neoclassical murals. The cathedral was dedicated to Santa Maria Maggiore and San Leoluca
