Chiusano d'Asti - Churches and places of worship Chiesa Romanica di Santa Maria Site history: The Romanesque church of S. Maria appears in the register of the Asti churches of 1345, but its construction is certainly about a century earlier. It had an adjoining cemetery but, already in 1585, the pastoral visit report notes its distance from the concentric that had formed and attested in a higher position, defining it as a "country church". Partially restored in 2002, but now in a state of neglect. Site description: The façade with an anachronistic Baroque oculus and a rusty gate to replace a door, stolen long ago, as well as the badly plastered north and south sides, show that at the end of the seventeenth century the building was practically rebuilt by reusing the original bricks with much approximation and with the addition of buttresses. The interior is in a state of total abandonment but still contains the panel relating to the static consolidation of 2002 which was limited to the refurbishment of the roof. The 1693 fresco inside the apse is probably irrecoverable but apparently modestly made. The only original part is the lower half of the apse, while the upper part, particularly clumsy and disproportionate, shows that it has undergone the
Chiusano d'Asti - Churches and places of worship Chiesa Parrocchiale Madonna del Carmine The parish church, dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine, is attested in documents starting from the end of the sixteenth century. It was subject to alterations and extensions in the seventeenth century and in the second half of the eighteenth century, when it assumed its present form based on a design by the Turin architect Giovanni Battista Pagano. The elegant late Baroque façade, plastered in white, is characterized by a large elliptical oculus, a half-height horizontal frame and an entablature dominated by the triangular tympanum. Inside, with a single nave with four side chapels, valuable eighteenth-century furnishings, a baptismal font and contemporary murals are preserved. Two large canvases, from the eighteenth century, but restored in the nineteenth century, depict the Madonna and Child with saints. Behind the main altar there is a painting of the Black Madonna of the Shrine of Guadalupe, brought from New Mexico in 1752 by Giovanni Battista Codiga, who had made his fortune overseas.

Bardonecchia - Archaeological Sites Parco Archeologico "Tur d'Amun" The Tur d'Amun, in a dominant position over the Bardonecchia basin and the Borgovecchio, was born around the second half of the 12th century with military functions in order to control the outlets of the two valleys of Frejus and Rho and be visually in communication with the fortification by Bramafam. The residence of the legendary lord François de Bardonnèche originally had a mighty central tower 21 meters high, preserved up to the height of the battlements still in the 1920s. In the whole area, purchased in 1998 by the Municipality of Bardonecchia, an archaeological park is now set up which, by means of self-guided panels, allows to investigate the structures, their history and evolution over time. The tower can now be visited, of which the first two floors above ground have been recovered, parts of the small eastern tower, sections of the walls that delimited the downstream complex, the circular towers of the southern side and some service rooms.

Alba - Walls, towers and gates Torre Sineo The Sineo tower stands on the rest of the buildings. It is believed that the construction of the structure dates back to the 12th century. The arcades and walls are from the Middle Ages, arrived almost intact. Its shape is practically square with a height of 35 meters. The thickness of the wall ranges from 120 to 150 cm, decreasing in height. The purpose of building the tower was the defensive one.

Monteverde” was born from a nucleus of collections coming from the collections of Giulio Monteverde, donated to the Municipality of Genoa in 1919 by his daughters. The thirty works on display are organized in chronological order. In the first room there is the self-portrait of the artist created in 1917, the same year as his death. They are works of great value that attract thousands of tourists every year and all interested in the art of chalk.

Alluvioni Piovera - Castles, palaces and mansions Castello di Piovera Piovera Castle was built in the fourteenth century on the ruins of a pre-existing Christian convent. It was home to several noble families, including the Spanish, the Visconti and the Savoy. Currently it turns out to be the residential residence of Niccolò Calvi di Bergolo, who purchased it in the late 1960s.

It was built around 1357 at the behest of John II Paleologist. In the middle of the 1400s, its function was changed and consequently also its structure. The rooms of the castle are dedicated to Prehistory, Protohistory and the Roman section. The main room also holds memories of the city's spa treatments today. Of all its massive 13th century structure, today we can see only three towers and a minimum part of the city walls. Vogogna - Castles, palaces and mansions Rocca di Vogogna ruderi The Rocca di Vogogna rises on a rocky spur, from which the whole country dominates from above. It is assumed to have been built around the 5th century, in Roman times. Unfortunately, in the 16th century it was destroyed and today only ruins can be seen. Despite this, it is possible to observe how impressive it was as a construction and understand that it was built with the purpose of defending and protecting against any enemy attacks.
Vogogna - Castles, palaces and mansions Castello Visconteo The original core of the Visconti Castle consisted of a square tower and a city wall placed towards the mountain. In 1348, the central buildings and the palace of the Pretorio wanted by Giovanni Visconti were added. In 1798, the castle passed ownership to the Municipality and was used as a prison. In 2004, the structure underwent restoration work, and today it enjoys an excellent state of conservation.

The current appearance of the tower is the result of a series of restorations, since it was severely damaged during the war or by the elements. It is easily distinguishable from the ancient fresco on the facade. From its height it offers a very special view of the area.
Cuneo - Churches and places of worship Sinagoga The building was built by the Jewish community in Cuneo in 1611. In 1884 it underwent a total renovation both inside and outside. In memory of the old synagogue there are two tombstones that recall two events. Santena - Museums Fondazione Cavour The Cavour Foundation is located inside the homonymous Castle of Santena, built between 1712 and 1720 by Francesco Gallo. It was established in 1955, at the behest of the wife of Count Camillo Cavour, Marquise Marchioness. The intent was to enhance the house-museum, where the Benso family lived and since 1649 the Marquises Cavour.
Monteu Roero - Castles, palaces and mansions Castello di Monteu Roero Historical news of Monteu Roero Castle has been reported starting from the twelfth century. In the past, it was owned by the manufacturer, Guido Biandrate. After the Biandrates were defeated, the territory and the fortress passed to the Boeros, who thus gave their name also to the place.
Novara - Monuments Ossario della Bicocca Inaugurated on 23 March 1879 on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Battle of Novara, the Ossuary of the Fallen, erected at the Bicocca, was at the center of numerous controversy. The ecomuseal route includes, in addition to the exhibition room, also an external itinerary that touches the common oven, the sink, the mill, the sundials painted on the facades of the huts. In addition, in the area of the Great Lake, some panels illustrate the history of the Fell Railway, which at the end of the nineteenth century connected Susa to St. Michel de Maurienne through the Moncenisio pass.
Salbertrand - Museums Ecomuseo Colombano Romean The Colombano Romean Ecomuseum in Salbertrand, in the Gran Bosco Natural Park, collects the memories of land and water of the community. Bardonecchia - Museums Museo Civico Etnografico Do you want to know the testimonies of the material culture of the old mountain village of Bardonecchia? Since 1954 there is the Ethnographic Civic Museum, housed in the nineteenth-century building once the seat of the municipal house. It offers an insight into the daily life and culture of mountain people, and illustrates the rhythms of the agricultural and pastoral economy that characterized the country before the advent of mass tourism. It collects objects, furniture, furnishings and tools, as well as a small section of sacred art. Condove - Archaeological Sites Castello del Conte Verde On a hill at the entrance of the Valle di Susa, between Mount Pirchiriano and Caprasio, are the remains of a castle.
