In Tuscany, in the province of Siena, there is the enchanting town of Pienza that thanks to its beautiful Renaissance historic center has been since 1996 UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is one of the most renowned centers and of greatest artistic importance in the whole Val d'Orcia.
The city has a relatively short history, it was in fact a small village until 1462 when the then Pope Pius II native of this small village entrusted ograve; the project of reconstruction of the same village to the famous architect Rossellino who transformed it into an enchanting town with typically medieval atmospheres .
On the heights of the hill, there is the particular square named after the Pontiff Pius II built using a particular pattern of perspective to make it look more Larger and more spacious. Here are the main monuments of the town.
The Renaissance Cathedral, whose construction began in 1459 by Bernardo Rossellino, in front of which there is the municipal palace with the portico three arches and the travertine facade and the Piccolomini Palace.

After a nice visit to the central square of the city, I am going to climb to the top of the hill. On the journey that separates me to it, I find three characteristic alleys with their respective nice names alley love, kiss and away dark.
