The Art Gallery of the Capuchin Fathers was built in 1870 by Father Pietro Repetto. In 1901 the museum was entrusted to the convent of Voltaggio. During the years 1967-1970 the museum was restored by the “Committee for the Reordering and Arrangement of the Art Gallery”.

The Castle of Casaleggio dates back to the tenth century. It was rebuilt in the 12th century. It is located in the municipality of Casaleggio Boiro, in the Province of Alessandria, in the Alto Monferrato. The castle stands in the southeastern part of the Piedmont plain, and is a strategic place. The building has an architecturally historical value and offers a panorama of the Alpine arc. It belongs to medieval times. It is currently open to the public.

Castello Spinola

The Castle of Lerma takes the name of its builder Luca Spinola. The property underwent renovations in 1499. The building is shaped like a non-regular pentagon. The characteristic of the castle is the inner courtyard straight on columns, this has the shape of a triangle.

Cassano Spinola (12 Km)

Castello di Cassano

The Castle of Cassano was built in the tenth century, and belonged to the De Cassano family. Its structure was simple and fortified. In 1313, the castle passed to the Spinoli, and remained their property until 1787. In 1499 the fortress was destroyed by French troops, thus losing its splendor.

Borghetto Borbera (13 Km)

Castello di Torre Ratti

The Castle of Torre Ratti was built around 1413. Subsequently, Filippo Maria Visconti did some renovation work. The structure took its name from the family who owned it for many years, the Opizzoni Rats. Then I turn to Pope Pius XI, who also obtained the coat of arms of the previous family. Today it is a beautiful building located in a park, near the Borbera stream.

The Nature Collection is located in the Town Hall. Inside it, it preserves more than eight hundred specimens of embalmed animals, including mammals and birds. Currently, the exhibition needs a new venue for reasons concerning the exhibition space, and since 2001 a new location is being planned.

It is characterized by a square-shaped tower dating back to the 10th century, which was used to spot the possible arrivals of the invaders. Today, the Castle houses a winery that has been producing wines of great quality for five hundred years.

The Castle of Pozzolo Formigaro was built in the Middle Ages with the main function of defending and controlling the territory. The fortress still preserves some frescoes of the fifteenth century, made by Franceschino and Manfredino Boxilio, previously placed in the Church of San Sebastiano.

Castello Malaspina

The Malaspina Castle was built in the late '200 by Tommaso Malaspina. The building remained the property of this family until the mid-1500s, when it was unfeuded to the Doria. Having a structure like that of a medieval fortress, it has resisted many damages. From its terrace you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the Alps chain.
