Aprica, fun with ski at you feet!

The small town of Aprica is a charming resort with just 1,600 inhabitants, situated in the homonymous pass that connects the Valtellina with the Valcamonica. The slogan distinguishing Aprica that made us detour to have a holiday here is "skiing on doorstep", to indicate extraordinary possibility offered to exit hotels or residences with skis on foot, being able to reach easily and quickly lifts which shortly lead on exciting tracks. I can guarantee that is actually true! A very positive aspect that really makes you feel on holiday and reduces to zero the stress on the way to the ski slopes.

Here there are more than 50 km of ski runs, snow-covered with artificial snow if necessary, to guarantee fun in all weather conditions. 7 easy blue slopes, 10 red slopes and 5 black slopes, the most challenging for experienced skiers ... this is what the ski area of Aprica has to offer. At the arrival of chairlifts in altitude, there refreshment points, restaurants and solariums to allow you to fully enjoy a sunny day and give some rest to those who do not ski.

The lovers of cross country skiing can enjoy this sport in different circuits located near Aprica; in Trivigno for example, at 1,800 meters above sea level, there is a link of a length of 5 km, while in Magnolta, at 1825 m there is a small ring of just 1.7 kilometers easily reached by cable car. But the most beautiful and fascinating path to experience is the one towards Pian di Gembro, a 7.5 km long path, proceeding through the woods between 1,300 and 1,400 meters above sea level, offering striking views. The part we walked on foot and was really charming.

Those who love quietness and lonely places, where being immersed in the enchanting nature, undoubtedly love ski excursions, easily workable near Aprica in any way that is closed in winter due to snow. We made magnificent quiet strolls along the road from Trivigno leading to Mortirolo.

Fun alternative to skiing like ice skating are viable in Aprica outdoors until late at night. After this experience I warmly advice to discover this village, offering countless possibilities for sports and winter landscapes lovers.
