Chiavari is an active commercial tourist center in Tigullio. Its center is characterized by its arcades, which host shops with an ancient flavor and has kept its medieval structure intact.

Undoubtedly worth visiting are the Villa Rocca Botanical Park, built at the beginning of the 20th century and embellished with artificial caves, bridges and ponds is divided into areas with specific botanical characteristics; Palazzo Rocca, built in 1600 houses at its and the Museum of Prehistory and Protohistory of Tigullio that preserves finds found at an ancient necropolis.

Among the main events in Chiavari we recall characteristic events such as the Palio Marinaro del Tigullio in which several teams compete at sea in the race on wooden goiter, typical Ligurian boats and the patronal feast of Our Lady of the Orto which in memory of the apparition of the Madonna, takes place from 1 to 3 July and includes a seafaring palio among neighborhoods, setting up stands and stalls with various goods, lighting and decoration of city streets, fireworks.
