The location is a broad and sunny hollow of the Friaul Dolomites Natural Park amidst meadows of Alpine wild flowers and herbs. This Nature Park is a superb natural, geological and landscape setting. Forni di Sopra is well known for its cuisine - pure, natural ingredients delightfully presented on the table. Tasty local products such as cheese, butter and ricotta must be tried while many delicious wild herbs and forest mushrooms can be tasted or bought locally.

Forni di Sopra offers soft mobility for holiday guests with trekking tours, fascinating walks up to high Alpine chalets and cheese making dairies or hikes along the Via Alpina. In addition mountain bike and downhill tracks are just waiting to thrill our guests. Now also environmentally-friendly electronic bikes are at our guests’ disposal. Enchanting hidden corners of Forni di Sopra can also be explored on horseback. A free skiing bus is available in winter.

Forni di Sopra is so easy to reach with public transport. The nearest big railway junction is Udine, about 90km distant from Forni di Sopra. Regular buses connect Udine with Tolmezzo and continue from there to Forni di Sopra. Also buses from Villach (Austria) are available.
