Casal Velino, with its two hills villages, Casal Velino Scalo, and by sea, Casal Velino Marina , and many small fractions, it can be defined as a Virtuoso Municipality, thanks also to its tourist potential, culto-religious events, beaches suitable for bathing, which have been waving the Blue Flag for three years, churches and medieval views.

Casalicchio, so called until recently, was built around 1063 in the Cilento National Park, following the depopulation of the Velia plain, overgrown with swamps and thickets, crossed by the river Alento. To the present day the church of San Matteo remains, where the saint was buried and then taken to Salerno.

In the capital of Casal Velino you can visit a small museum of the peasant house; the economy of the place has been in fact for centuries occupied exclusively in agriculture.
