Doues is a town located at the beginning of Valpelline about 15 kilometers from Aosta. This territory is covered for most of its surface by woods and pastures. Nature distinguishes Doues from other cities because here it is in the highest state pure and unspoiled. Thanks to its favourable geographical location, this place offers a pleasant climate in all seasons. The mild climate is also benefited from agriculture, which represents Doues' main activity.

Hotel receptivity is given to holiday homes, shelters, farms. For entertainment we find an eight-hole mini golf course. In this country they are practiced for two traditional sports: the rebatta and the palet. The rebatta consists in hitting a ball (rebatta) with a stick (the masetta) trying to send it as far as possible. Instead, the palet is a mountain adaptation of the game of bowls, from which it differs by the shape of the launched object: the palet turns out to be a sort of metal disc pierced in center.

Each player must get as close to the ball as possible. There are two events to be reported in Doues: the carnival and the polenta festival. The carnival, in which families welcome the procession of masks offering refreshments, wines and typical hot broths. In the summer there is the festival of polen\ ta that lasts throughout a weekend: a special occasion to taste the different types of polenta, which I assure you, is exquisite in all its varieties: polenta, polenta tanning, polenta gnocchi, which together with other typical dishes and excellent Aosta Valley wines, allow you to taste the traditional flavors of this enchanting valley.
