The Monica castle was built between 1889 and 1917 by the painter Gennaro Della Monica. The structure has a strongly asymmetrical composition. Osservatorio Astronomico di Collurani

The Astronomical Observatory of Collurania is located in the municipality of Teramo. He is one of the twelve astronomical observers in Italy.
