I skied at Roccaraso a couple of years ago and was very surprised at how good it was/is. The hotel, the people, the food, the atmosphere were all very nice.
Roccaraso is situated in the south-east of the Costa Calda, on the central route that connects the Centre and the South of Italy.
The runs here have something for everyone, with the majority favouring intermediates, while beginners have some good runs to choose from as well.
Experts have an excellent choice of black runs and off-pistes. Due to its altitude, the snow can be unpredictable, but they have an excellent snowmaking system.

The town itself is quite modern, due to the extensive damage caused during WWII.
Apres Ski in Roccaraso is rather limited but of quality, there are a couple of nightclubs that offer a good night out if you want to party. Most of the nightlife is anyway based in hotels and restaurants: something natural after a busy day on the slopes! This is definitely a good place for a relaxed skiing holiday. The town also has excellent restaurants, which serve a wide range of traditional and Italian cuisine. Roccaraso also has a sports centre for those who want to take a break from skiing.

I've always enjoyed my times here and advice it to all the tourist who find themselves in central Italy in Winter.
