Alba - Walls, towers and gates Torre Sineo The Sineo tower stands on the rest of the buildings. It is believed that the construction of the structure dates back to the 12th century. The arcades and walls are from the Middle Ages, arrived almost intact. Its shape is practically square with a height of 35 meters. The thickness of the wall ranges from 120 to 150 cm, decreasing in height. The purpose of building the tower was the defensive one.
Candelo - Walls, towers and gates Ricetto di Candelo The Ricetto di Candelo is a fortification built in the late Middle Ages by the inhabitants of this locality. Ownership of the nobles Vialardi di Villanova, then redeemed by the Candelesi, the ricetto had the function of protecting the inhabitants and also their cultivations. The ricetto had a pentagonal plant structure and extended over an area of 13,000 square meters. Today, passing through those environments you can immerse yourself in the ancient peasant environment. Since 2002, the recipe has been part of the Club of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy certified by ANCI.
Asti - Walls, towers and gates Torre Rossa The Red Tower or Torre di San Secondo dates back to the 1st century BC. The tower was built in two different periods, in the Roman period and in the eleventh century around the 11th century. It is one of the architectural symbols of the city of Asti, one of its oldest monuments. It stands in Piazza Santa Caterina. It was named so because it was built from red bricks. The building has special architectural and decorative elements of a combination of Romanesque art with the art of the Middle Ages. It is now open to the public.
Susa - Walls, towers and gates Porta Savoia Porta Savoia dates back to the Roman period and is part of the ancient city walls. It is located in an area full of other historical monuments in the city. The structure consists of a round arch, surmounted by two round towers, built for defensive reasons. Today, despite the age of construction, the building is well preserved.
Susa - Walls, towers and gates Arco di Augusto The Arch of Augustus is located in Susa, in the province of Turin. The construction was erected around the first century BC at the behest of the Roman emperor Augustus and King Cozio. It was built with white marble and rests on two bases. On the top, in the frieze, an inscription in Latin was engraved and a scene of the sacrifice of animals is depicted. Today the monument is still in excellent condition and can be visited for tourists.
Oulx - Walls, towers and gates Torre Delfinale The Torre Delfinale has a square-shaped structure composed of different stone materials. The building was built around the 14th century and served as the residence of Royal officials. In the middle of the 18th century, the tower was abandoned for reasons that are still unknown. In 1882 the tower was purchased by Minister Luigi Des Ambrois of Nevache. After his death, he passed ownership to the Municipality, which, in collaboration with the Superintendence for Architectural and Environmental Heritage of Piedmont, made it possible to restore it.
Chianocco - Walls, towers and gates Torre di Chianocco The Tower of Chianocco, also known by the name the Casaforte di Chianocco, was built in the twelfth century. It is a Romanesque building in good condition and has maintained the original architectural style. The recently restored tower has a square structure and is 19 meters high. Currently, it is a private property and can only be visited on a few days of the year.
Lu Monferrato - Walls, towers and gates Torre di Lu Monferrato The Tower is located in the historic center of Lu Monferrato. The building was part of the group of signal towers built at the beginning of the 15th century. The tower was built by the Paleologi family as a defensive fortification. It has a square-base structure 18 meters high. During the last century the tower was restored several times.
Casale Monferrato - Walls, towers and gates Torre Civica This brick tower 60 meters high and of a square plan dates back to the 11th century. It suffered heavy fire damage in 1504 but was reconstructed six years later producing the now taller structure including the current bell chamber. The tower is adjoined by the church of Santo Stefano which stands on a small square on the east side.

The current appearance of the tower is the result of a series of restorations, since it was severely damaged during the war or by the elements. Ceva - Walls, towers and gates Torre il Campanone The Torre il Campanone was part of the three towers that formed the embankment of Ceva, closed between two high walls where the soldiers guarded. Located on the hill called Solaia la Torre, it is about 17 meters high and 4 meters wide.

Alba - Walls, towers and gates Torre Bonino The Tower dates back to the twelfth century and represented the symbol of the power of the Cerrati family which, at the time, had great importance. It has a regular plan at a length of more than 30 meters. Currently, it is surrounded by an architecture and a style of not particular architectural importance. The building is now open to the public.
Carignano - Walls, towers and gates Torre Civica The Civic Tower of Carignano was built by the Marquises Romagnano, and is the only one left among the towers in the past present within the municipal territory. The building was initially used as a fortification, and until 1932, also as a parish bell tower.

Fenestrelle - Walls, towers and gates Forte Serre Marie The Serre Marie Fort was built in the second half of the 19th century and is part of the imposing complex of the buildings of the Fort of Fenestrelle. The structure looks like a real battery with six pieces that originally beat the surrounding area of the valley floor near Usseaux. The dust can was accessed through a tunnel that passed below street level.
Fenestrelle - Walls, towers and gates Blockhaus del Falouel Blockhaus del Falouel was built in 1982, and it was the fortress of the homonymous guard corps. It was made up of a cubic barracks divided into three floors where about seventy riflemen had shelter. There is no trace of the drawbridge at the entrance, but still the construction is in excellent condition.
Fenestrelle - Walls, towers and gates Forte San Carlo Fort San Carlo was built between 1731 and 1789 and represents the best preserved building in the Fort of Fenestrelle complex. Access was through the Royal Gate reserved for nobles, officers and ambassadors. The Officers Pavilion, the Governor's Palace, a church and some warehouses are part of this Fort.
Fenestrelle - Walls, towers and gates Forte Tre Denti The Three Teeth Fort was built in 1692 at the behest of General Catinat on commission from France. The building is named after three rock spikes originally found at the building site. During the 18th century, the so-called Devil's Garitta was also erected, reachable through ramps of side stairs. The structure of the Fort consisted of an aqueduct that went into the mountain taking water from a natural spring.
Fenestrelle - Walls, towers and gates Ridotta Santa Barbara La Reducta Santa Barbara is located at an altitude of 1550 m going up the side of the mountain of the Fort of Fenestrelle. The structure has a truncated pyramidal shape with very thick walls and a square base. It is thought that outside it had a drawbridge from which you could reach the Cannon Road.
Fenestrelle - Walls, towers and gates Forte di Fenestrelle The Fort of Fenestrelle is a fortified complex built from the 18th to the 19th century in Val Chisone. It is said “The Great Wall of Piedmontese” for its development along the left flank of the valley. The design idea came from Ignazio Bertola who built it with the intent to protect the Italian-French border. The complex was not the site of serious assaults but only the protagonist of minor conflicts and a brief clash during World War II. The structure of the Fort consists of 7 reduced and 3 forts connected together by stairs, ramparts and stands.
La Morra - Walls, towers and gates Torre Campanaria The Bell Tower was built in the eighteenth century by the architect Cocito di Neive, while the bell was designed by Domenico Pettiti. The building has a square structure and consists of five floors embellished in Baroque style. In 1544 the Castle, of which the Tower was part, was destroyed by the French troops but the only thing that was saved was precisely the latter.
Margarita - Walls, towers and gates Torre Civica The Civic Tower, also known as the Town Hall Tower, is part of the Palazzo Margherita in the city of L'Aquila. Part was badly damaged by the strong 2009 earthquake, but today the damage has been repaired.
Moncalieri - Walls, towers and gates Arco della Torre dell'Orologio This is the only door left of the three originals present in the city that date back to the Middle Ages. In the past there was also a drawbridge connected to the structure but today only four arches remain, two on each side of the tower which is fortunately preserved in excellent condition.

Martino subsequently inserted in the installation of the Baroque palace that still contains it today. This thirteenth-century tower was the ancient residence of the Guelph family of the Ponte. The walls of the building are impressive and reach a height of 8 meters, while, originally, they had to have a height of about 36 meters. Of the medieval buildings, which occupied a large area of the block, today we have few traces.

The building was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century. It is now open to the public.

Over the centuries the Tower was scaled down, after deep restorations dating back to the 19th century.
Asti - Walls, towers and gates Torre Trojana The Troyana tower overlooks Piazza Medici and is considered one of the most impressive medieval towers, perfectly accomplished and best preserved in Piedmont. Built by the Cortesi family between the end of the twelfth and the beginning of the 13th century, in 1250 it became the property of the Troia, who demolished the adjoining Palazzo Cortesi to build their new home, keeping intact the tower. Inside, a 199 steps staircase allows the visitor to reach the floor of the battlements. The recently restored Troyana tower is open to the public.
Biella - Walls, towers and gates Porta Torrazza The Porta della Torrazza was built in 1780 to replace another medieval door. Also known as the Gate of Oropa, it was created as a tribute to the Sanctuary of Oropa. In the center of the arch there is a coat of arms that was chiseled during the French Revolution.
Alba - Walls, towers and gates Torre Ravinale The Tower dates back to the 19th century and is located within a private residence on three floors. It is a square structure of about 20 meters in height and has a compact façade, without decorations. Over the years it was restored by Giovanni Conterno, who gave a new look to the house and the tower. Currently, the first floor of the building houses a pharmacy, while the other floors are inhabited residences.

Today it is open to the public.
