Isernia - Walls, towers and gates Torre Civica o Arco di San Pietro The Civic Tower or Arch of San Pietro was built around the second half of the fourteenth century. Although the Tower has undergone several changes over the centuries, the most important and significant parts remain visible. The structure consists of pointed arches on a square base in Gothic style and at the top is the large clock.
Sepino - Walls, towers and gates Porta Bojano Porta Bojano is part of the large complex of fortifications and protective walls built in Sepino during 2 BC and 4 AD. The structure of the Gate consists of a vault in which the male figure of Hercules. The outer side has statues of prisoners barbarians, while at the bottom on the right there is an episode depicting the punishment for those who stole the flocks.
Termoli - Walls, towers and gates Torre del Sinarca The Tower of the Sinarca was erected in the second half of the 16th century, with the order of Don Pietro di Toledo. Over the years, it underwent several changes in its structure; the last one was in 1963. The latter restoration, commissioned by its current owners, gave it today's appearance. At the moment, inside the tower there is a restaurant open for the public.
Venafro - Walls, towers and gates Torre del Mercato The Market Tower is located in the Municipality of Venafro. It is thought that the Captain of the People lived in this building. During the years, several restorations have been carried out, which saw the addition of some portals.
Miranda - Walls, towers and gates Torre del Castello The Miranda Castle was built at the end of the 13th century by the will of King Dinis. In 1762 the building was destroyed by the troops of Charles III king of Spain. Today, only a few ruins remain, such as the front door and the tower. The ruins are surrounded by a beautiful garden, in fact the whole area has been declared a National Monument.
Petacciato - Walls, towers and gates Torre di Petacciato The Petacciato Tower was a coastal tower, with a square base structure. Currently, the structure is in a state of total abandonment and only the ruins are visible. In the vicinity of the tower there is a bathing establishment.
Campobasso - Walls, towers and gates Porta Sant'Antonio Abate The Gate of St. Anthony the Abbot is among the six doors depicted in the crown located in the initial part of the coat of arms of the city of Campobasso. This door, which is part of the ancient castle of the city, is still preserved, together with the door of Santa Cristina, San Paolo and the Cold Gate. That of Sant'Antonio together with its two towers date back to 1463.
Campobasso - Walls, towers and gates Porta Mancina The origins of the Porta Santa Cristina date back to the Middle Ages. Also known as “Left-Handed”, being next to the church, which gave access to the fields without obstacles. It was part of the battlefield of the wars carried out in the area. Today, however, it is in a good state of preservation.
