Streets and Squares Piazza dell'Anfiteatro Piazza Anfiteatro is built on the remains of the ancient Roman amphitheater of the 2nd century and is located in the city of Lucca. The square was born in the Middle Ages and was called “I speak”, indicating the place where citizens' meetings were held. To date, the floor of the square is raised by about 3 meters compared to the Roman arena. The square is normally frequented by tourists who appreciate its history and structure.
