Our grandfather bought La Travaglina, a farmstead at 270 m over sea level existing from 1600, and 7 hectares of vineyards in 1966. Now we have 33 hectares, planted and cultivated in order to best exploit their orientation and the type of soil, always having the maximum attention for the environment. We have chosen an environmentally sustainable land management abolishing the use of weed killers, reducing the work in the vineyards, and reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticide treatments. High quality grapes simplify cellar work where we “only” have to transform them in wine with the aim to conserve and propose, to the people that taste our products, the fragrances and the aromas of our land and tradition.

Located at the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese zone, the Isimbarda estate owes its name to the ancient house of the marquises Isimbardi, Lombardy nobles who became the feudal lords of the Santa Giuletta estate at the end of the 17th century. In particular Don Luigi Isimbardi – who in the 19th century loved the Isimbarda farm just as much as he did his magnificent palazzo in Milan – was a skilled vine-grower and a pioneer of modern winemaking techniques.
