My walk through the most beautiful villages in Italy was an incredible and unforgettable experience! It's amazing how there are different ways of thinking and in different places within the same country or region. My third stop, now a little further down, are some beautiful villages in the Italian Emilia Romagna region, and I started my walk through the village of San Leo. I fell in love with the place... San Leo is a place that seems to be built to be the stage of some of the most romantic fairy tales we know. San Leo has an ancient history and every stone, every wall has something to say to its visitors. I lost the sense of time and hours, walking in the midst of so much history and beauty... the streets, buildings and palaces of the historic center of this town are extraordinarily beautiful and fascinating. The feeling I had was to go back in time... I felt like a medieval princess waiting for her gallant knight. From the top of the Rocca di San Leo, I was very impressed with the breathtaking panorama that made the background... phenomenal. This village was one of the most beautiful I visited, and I recommend to all those who love places where tradition and history continue to live, despite the passing of time and the arrival of modern progress, visit it.
The San Marino museum is inside the ancient Palazzo Pergami. It has important archaeological and artistic remains which reminds one of the legend of Sain Marino, the history of the Republic and the deep past. It also contains precious artifacts which date back to the Egyptian, Etruscan, Roman, Hellenic and Iapygian Ages. Not to be missed is the collection of ancient coins and medals which date back to the period between 1864 and 1937.
