The largest ski resort in the northern Apennines takes its name from
Monte Cimone which soars up to 2165 meters above sea level.
The accommodation is provided at four communities
Sestola, Fanano, Riolunato and Montecreto, the bottom lift station is located near the last one.
With about
50 km of downhill runs the resort Cimone is the largest ski carousel of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, and features one single electronic skipass for all the ski lifts, similar to the biggest Italian ski resorts.
60% of the slopes is supported by the artificial snow cannons, the runs are in general short, but challenging, like
Del Lago with descent reaching 50 per cent.
7 of them are labelled as black, the most famous here,
Delle Aquile is also the longest one, almost 3 km of constant speed and direction changes. There is also an opportunity for less experienced skier, who can practice their skills under the eye of one of 50 licensed ski instructors.
Particular attention is given also to children, with courses tailored for young skiers in the new
baby-equipped park “Cimonelandia” in Lago della Ninfa.
The closest airport is at Aeroporto di Bologna and the transfer time is only 1 hours. The nearest train station to Cimone is at Stazione di Modena.
