Holidays in Lipari a Sicilian island of 9.5 km from the mountainous and jagged shape that reaches 602 meters high with Monte Chirica.

In addition to being one of the most appreciated tourist destinations in the Sicilian tourist landscape, it is also the largest of the Aeolian Islands , Lipari represents the beating heart of the entire archipelago. The town extends at the foot of the Castle of Lipari, built on a plateau that lies overhanging the sea in the construction of the city walls there are ancient remains dating back to the Greek Roman period 4th century BC, Norman towers of the twelfth century, still today you access the castle through a fortified door and along the coves between < Strong>Marina Corta and Marina Lunga, landing point for ships and hydrofoils.
The 12,000 inhabitants are settled mainly in the hamlets of Canneto, Acquacalda, Quattropani and Pianoconte.

Lipari is an island of volcanic origin, still active the volcanoes of Stromboli and Vulcano, whose appearance has been modeled several times by volcanic eruptions that have occurred over the centuries. This is most visible in the Muria Valley with its red rocks and on the North-East coast with its vast pumice flow. It is precisely the extraction of the latter that represents one of the most developed economic activities of the Aeolian Islands, it is in fact the only one in Lipari industrial settlement for the extraction of pumice.

Lipari's main sources of income are undoubtedly tourism and fishing favoured also by the fact that the island is the only one in the area to have efficient sea connections with other neighboring islands. Tourists who go to the Aeolian island have the opportunity to make pleasant excursions thanks to the ease of passing from one island to another and to attend the beaches of Lipari, the 4 most famous; white beach, mulberry beach, valley muria beach and black sands beach.
