Abruzzo's best seaside holidays - Top Sea Destinations in Abruzzo

Alba Adriatica, Abruzzo

There are many reasons why Abruzzo is becoming pretty popular between tourists from all over the world, like its impressive National Park or its incredible mountains from where you will enjoy some seriously breathtaking views.

However, more and more people are starting to visit this region of Italy because of its beaches. This is because most of them are extremely clean and big, which gives the chance to all the visitors to enjoy what they are looking for: some great days to spend relaxing or practicing various sports on the beach in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

One of the most popular beaches in Abruzzo is Pineto Beach. It's about ten kilometers long and it's located right under some impressive mountains. Parts of it are free, which means you won't have to pay to enjoy your time there. And, although you will have to pay a little fee to access certain parts of it, that will also give you the chance to enjoy some of the bars and restaurants that are there. It's a pretty quiet beach, which means it's ideal for you if you are traveling with children or if you just want to relax.

Another very popular beach is Punta Penna. If you are looking for a wild beach, this is definitely the place to go. It's free and it doesn't tend to get too full, so you will be able to relax as much as you want.

Then there is Martinsicuro Beach, which is filled with tourists and located very close to different restaurants and bars, but there you will also have the chance to hire boats or practice sports such as windsurf or scuba diving, which means it's the ideal place to visit if you are looking to keep yourself active even during your summer holidays.

Rocca San Giovanni is yet another great beach you can visit in Abruzzo. There are a few small bays there, which are gorgeous and the water is extremely transparent, which makes it the ideal place to practice snorkeling.

Punta del Cavalluccio is another great place to practice various water sports, which is made extremely easy because there are many places there where you will be able to rent all the equipment you might need.

Vasto Marina beach is another perfect choice if you are traveling with kids. Part of the beach isn't free though, but there are many hotels nearby which means you can find anything you may want. But, despite the fact it's a very quiet, relaxing beach, don't be surprise when you find lots of youngsters practicing sports such as windsurf.

But if you are hoping to find the quietest beach in the whole of Abruzzo, you can not miss Francavilla al Mare, which is ideal for families or for those who all they want to do is relax. This beach must be the closes thing to paradise you will find in Abruzzo thanks to the clean water and the white, fine sand.
