Astronomical Observing Sites Osservatorio Astronomico di Torino The Turin Astronomical Observatory, now moved to Pino Torinese, was established in 1822 by astronomer Giovanni Plana. After a difficult period of carelessness on the part of the institutions, today the structure is equipped with state-of-the-art tools such as the Bemberg meridian circle and a mirror telescope with more than one meter of opening.
