Garessio - Castles, palaces and mansions Castello Reale di Casotto The Castello Certosa Reale was built in the first half of the twelfth century, at the behest of the Carthusian monks. The structure was composed of the monastery, the church, the cloister and the cells. Between 1380 and 1500, it was damaged by several fires. Initially, it was rebuilt by the architect Francesco Gallo, and later by Bernardo Vittone, who gave it the appearance of a stately residence.
