Archaeological Sites Altilia (Saepinum) The Archaeological Zone of Altilia-Saepinum during the Sannith era was used as a point of exchange for agricultural and pastoral products. Of the ancient settlement remains the walls of polygonal shape. After the defeat by the Romans, important buildings such as the forum, the thermal baths, and the basilica and the theater were built during the second century BC.
Walls, towers and gates Porta Bojano Porta Bojano is part of the large complex of fortifications and protective walls built in Sepino during 2 BC and 4 AD. The structure of the Gate consists of a vault in which the male figure of Hercules. The outer side has statues of prisoners barbarians, while at the bottom on the right there is an episode depicting the punishment for those who stole the flocks.
Museums Museo della Città e del Territorio The Archaeological Museum is set up inside the structures of the Roman Theatre, in the locality of Altilia. The museum complex preserves materials from the territory and exhibits the excavations that date back to before the Middle Ages. The museum includes different themes that start from the processing of stone in the Paleolithic age to the late — ancient funerary rites.
