Isernia - Churches and places of worship Cattedrale di San Pietro Apostolo The Cathedral of St. Peter the Apostle was built in the historic center of Isernia and stands on an ancient temple of the 3rd century BC. Its appearance has seen changes over the centuries mainly due to the earthquakes occurred and renovations carried out later. The outer part is composed of a large triangular gable. The structure is supported by four ionic columns and two pairs of pillars at the corners. The interior space is divided into three naves consisting of four spans each.
Campobasso - Castles, palaces and mansions Castello Monforte The Monforte Castle dates back to the Middle Ages and was precisely built in the 15th century. This was named after Nicola Monteforte, who did a great job of restoration in the '400. Since this renovation, the appearance of the building changed completely: today only a few traces of the medieval plant remain. At the entrance you can easily notice the coat of arms of the Manforte lords. It is currently open to the public. Inside its large tower is the Meteorological Station. The archaeological site dates back to 736,000 years ago and consists of three overlapping human settlements. On the site where the finds were found, fossil soil was rebuilt with remains of bone fragments of various animals and remains of stone instruments.

Campobasso - Monuments Convitto Mario Pagano This college is surrounded by a beautiful garden with grassy flower beds and majestic trees. This is an impressive three-story building. To admire inside the Aula Magna which contains numerous paintings by the artist Romeo Musa. Another noteworthy environment is the Oratory. The walls of the room are dominated by three large frescoes by Amedeo Trivisonno.

This door, which is part of the ancient castle of the city, is still preserved, together with the door of Santa Cristina, San Paolo and the Cold Gate. That of Sant'Antonio together with its two towers date back to 1463.

Miranda - Walls, towers and gates Torre del Castello The Miranda Castle was built at the end of the 13th century by the will of King Dinis. In 1762 the building was destroyed by the troops of Charles III king of Spain. Today, only a few ruins remain, such as the front door and the tower. The ruins are surrounded by a beautiful garden, in fact the whole area has been declared a National Monument.
