Punta Ala, the best place to spend your summer holidays

Punta Ala, Tuscan Maremma
Punta Ala, Tuscan Maremma

The summer is just around the corner and everybody is starting to think about what part of the world needs to be discovered and lived this year. There are countless different options to be taken into consideration, after all, finding the right place can sometimes be a tricky thing to do. However, if you are looking for a cool place with great beaches that still manages to be pretty quiet so you can get the relax you are hoping to find, make Italy your next destination.

It's true that Italy is hugely popular which means there are tourists just about anywhere in the country, but it's also true that there are still, surprisingly, many parts of the country which aren't extremely popular and which makes them the perfect destination for those looking to relax while spending time on some great beaches.

That is the case with Punta Ala, a town in the province of Grosseto, in the extremely gorgeous and loved region of Tuscany. Punta Alta started being developed in the 70s, and it is now one of the best beach resorts in the whole of Tuscany and, of course, in the whole of Italy. The fact that various sailing competitions are hosted there throughout the year means that Punta Ala is, through most of the year, taken over by people who love these competitions, but the best thing is it's never too crowded which makes it the ideal place to visit.

In Punta Ala you will find an extremely gorgeous and sophisticated port, and nearby you will get further proof that is it a pretty exclusive place because you will see houses which are, literally, out of this world. The feeling of sophistication is taken one step further when you will decide to grab a bite in some of the restaurants which fill Punta Ala, where you will try some of that hugely popular Italian cuisines in some of the best restaurants you have ever seen.

One of the best and most popular beaches in Punta Ala is, without a doubt, Cala Civette. This is an unspoilt beach which you will be able to reach only if you go by foot, which means you won't find a lot of people there. However, it is well worth it, trust me. Very close by, you will also get the chance to visit the necropolis which dates back to the 8th century before Christ.

But if as well as enjoying some sailing competitions and enjoy some relaxing moments in some great beaches you want to keep yourself active, don't miss out on the chance to practice some sports. In fact, in Punta Alta, you will be able to play golf as well as book an excursion with mountain bikes, or get some lessons to learn how to windsurf and play tennis. If what you want from your next summer holidays is a great, sophisticated places where you will be able to relax and keep yourself active practicing some sports, Punta Ala is definitely the best destination you could possibly find.
