Pontremoli is a city to which I am particularly linked, thanks also to the memory of a pleasant school trip from elementary school. It is from that time that every time I hear about this beautiful town, panoramas, smells and flavors of other times emerge to my mind.

After several years, I decided to return to visit this characteristic Tuscan village. Located on a gentle hill in a raised position, from here you can enjoy the typical views of Tuscany rich in woods full of excellent mushrooms, olive groves and vineyards with sweet scents.

City with a typically medieval morphology, it had a great economic and cultural flowering already since the period of ancient Rome. Every year an ancestral tradition is repeated in Pontremoli, a challenge between two parishes and two patrons who compete for the largest and most durable bonfire, stacking wood and shrubs in quantity.

The medieval rivalry between Guelphs and Ghibellines is still reflected in the glow of the two bonfires. Two magical nights that illuminate the night in Pontremolese and reverberate on the houses of the historic center.
