The Val di Fassa or Fassa Valley is one of the Trentino valleys in the Dolomites in Trentino, northern Italy. It is referred to as Region Comun General de Fascia because it is an adminstrative valley community. It is surrounded by Sella, Rosengarten, Marmolada and Sassolungo mountains which affords splendid views of Trentino-Alto-Adige.
Apart from the mountains, there are lush forests, alpine lakes and rocky cliffs. The Val di Fassa is most popular in summer and winter.
During winter, the ski resorts are always busy. The resorts are in the Dolomiti Superski and they can all conveniently be accessed with one ski pass. The ski mountains here have modern lifts to the top of the slopes. In fact, the ski resorts here often host winter sport tournaments and contests. When the snow and ice thaws out during the warm months, the same lifts are used to get to high spots in the high mountains for hiking.
Something else that stands out about the Val di Fassa is how it has held on to Ladin traditions. In fact, Ladin is still spoken here and ancient legends continue to be passed on from generation to generation. As a holiday destination, it is the place to slow down, stop and smell the roses and get close to nature.
