When June arrives you have to hurry if you want to book places for the CascinarMangiando. You will certainly wonder what this strange word is. It is a food and wine walk through the woods and fields, where you eat, drink and laugh spending time in the companion of friends and family.

The first edition of the event took place in 1999 and then 700 exhibitors attended it. The following year the number of participants rose to 1500 and in recent years it reached almost 2000.

The trip is divided into 8 stages that correspond to the courses: 1st farmhouse - aperitif, 2nd farmhouse - appetizer, 3rd farmhouse - first, 4th farmhouse - sorbet, 5th farmhouse - second, 6th farmhouse - cheese, 7th farmhouse - fruit and 8th Piazza Chiesa - dessert and coffee. Once at the starting point you get your own metal glass (at each stage you drink wine at will), after which you have to look for your group with which you spend all the stages. The groups are divided into 100 people who start with 10 minutes away. At first everything goes smoothly because everyone is disciplined and fresh, but as time passes, miles and glasses of wine drunk, the order turns into mess and the groups start to mingle and you have to be careful not to get lost.

Everything in the atmosphere of general joy and entertainment. The walk is really pleasant, especially when it's not raining or the sun is not too strong. You can meet many people and, without remorse, taste the dishes of traditional cuisine (so much you will dispose of everything during the walk). If you want, you can take your four-legged friends. In each farmhouse there is a “water point” with bowls always full of fresh water. So if you don't know what to do on 14 June, come to the municipality of Santa Cristina di Borgomanero.
