Its construction is traced back to 967, by the Marquis Aleramo. Today the castle has a wide staircase, from which you can access the basement, where the kitchens, prisons and the pantry are located. Two more staircases lead to the main floor, where a Chapel with very important frescoes stands out.

Historical reports from the Fort of Ceva dating back to 1557, found in an act where beds and utensils were required for the soldiers who manned it. The entrance to the fort was through the north door at the entrance of which there was the headquarters of the guard body. The Watchtower stood not far from the side of the road, where outside it was the reproduction of the effigy of the Sorrows. The Marchesi Castle of Ceva was built around the 13th century. It was a fairly large and massive structure, built in a raised position to communicate with other neighboring castles as well. Part of this structure were also the four corner towers, of which today it is possible to observe only one. Currently, only a few ruins are visible because the castle was destroyed during the Napoleonic domination.

The Torre il Campanone was part of the three towers that formed the embankment of Ceva, closed between two high walls where the soldiers guarded. Located on the hill called Solaia la Torre, it is about 17 meters high and 4 meters wide.

The Castello Rosso Pallavicino is located in a small hill in the historic center of Ceva. The main core was built between the fourteenth and fifteenth century close to the city walls. The most interesting part of the castle is the Sala delle Colonne, a large space characterized by decorative ornaments and an imposing fireplace on the back wall.

The Guelph Tower was built during the fourteenth century after a flood destroyed the bridge and the gate of the Tanaro. The top of the Tower had battlements that were first covered by a roof and then exposed again. Despite the fact that the Tower is called Guelph, the battlements are of the Ghibelline type.

The Castle of Nucetto is located at the entrance to the Alta Val Tanaro. In 1414, after some attacks, the building was purchased by the Savoy. In 1500, after many restorations it was donated to the Duchess of Savoy. In 1802 the building was destroyed by the attacks of the Napoleonic troops. Currently, there are only the ruins that demonstrate its history.

The Castle of Mombasiglio is located on the hill of the historic village of the village. It was the fief of the lords of Carassone during the Middle Ages and, after several changes of ownership, it was renovated by the Trotti Sandri family in 1602.
