The Castle dates back to the twelfth century, stands on Roman walls, is from some clues, it is thought that there were large towers, but there are no certain evidence of the entire structure. The castle maintains, despite the various changes, its military-administrative functions. The building was built at the behest of Filippo Maria Visconti; today it is under restoration.

The building was located in the property of the noble Tettoni, citizens of Novara. Inside there was a fresco depicting an effigy of the Nursing Madonna. The fresco, then, underwent several movements and in the 1900s from the southern wall was transferred to a frame, later moved to the original wall with the restorations of the 1970s. In 1973 the work was stolen.

The Solaroli Castle was built during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The building had the function of controlling the entire surrounding area. This one has a very tall tower with a pigeon house and is surrounded by a beautiful park. Inside there is a hanging courtyard and also a chapter room.

The castle was built in the late fifteenth century by the Hunts of Mandello. In 1672, the building passed to the Cattaneo family, owners of the castle until the nineteenth century. The castle has a quadrilateral structure with two circular towers. Currently, it is private property and you can only visit the outside.

The Castle of Fara was built in 1156. During the twentieth century the structure was transformed into a beautiful country villa, and it is still such today. The structure of the building is shaped like a square tower. Of particular interest, we find inside a fresco where the Madonna and Child Enthroned is depicted in the Renaissance.

The construction of the castle, in bricks, does not refer to a precise date but it is thought to revolve around the fourteenth century. The castle of Barengo strikes everyone who travels there thanks also to its position, between a plain of poplars and a hill. The fortress has a trapezoid structure that is not regular and has two towers. The castle, inside, had a church, a cemetery and a well. Some entrance doors and foundations have survived today. The structure was built both for military purposes and as a residence.

It is dominated by the equestrian statue dedicated in a Vittorio Emanuele, the first king of Italy, crowned precisely in Novara. Overlooking here the Visconti-Sforza Castle, the work of the Lords of Milan and the Teatro Coccia.

The Teatro Coccia is of Italian tradition and is the most important 'historian' of Piedmont. Outside there is a pink granite porch with Doric columns. The entrance is located on the current Via Fratelli Rosselli. Today you can see the large room in the shape of a horseshoe.

Built in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century on the highest point of the city it is characterized by the imposing neoclassical dome spire 122 meters high, designed by Alessandro Antonelli.

Palazzo Bellini is located in Novara. The building belonged to the Bellini family of Oleggi, was built in 1300. The palace is a neoclassical building and inside it we find valuable paintings. In 1849, Carlo Alberti gathered the generals in this very building. In memory of the historical event, a tombstone was posted. Today the building is owned both private and by the municipality.

The Museum presents the testimonies collected from the territory dating back to Roman and early Christian times. The exhibition is done in rooms divided by sectors. The pieces on display belong to a period of time starting from the 3rd century before Christ until the 5th century after Christ. Numerous documentation for the cult of Jupiter, Minerva, Neptune and the stele of Ban Bernardino.

Ancient center of political life in Novara, free municipality, it is an architectural complex consisting of four historic buildings arranged in a quadrilateral, which arose at different times, overlooking the central courtyard.

An imposing structure in Neo-Classical style built in the XIX century on the project of the architect Alessandro Antonelli. The building is divided in a nave, covered by a barrel vault, and two aisle, with small oval domes.

The Ethnographic Museum Ugo Ferrandi was founded in 1940, in honor of one of the greatest Italian exploratory geographers. The building is located in Palazzo Faraggiana. Within it, today, we find more than 2500 birds, mammals, fish, reptiles from all over the world.

The Farraggiana-Ferrandi Museum of Natural History was founded by Catherine Faraggiana-Ferrandi and her son Alessandro. In the Museum you can find species of exotic animals found in Africa and Asia together with local species that aim to raise awareness of society for the protection of endangered species.

The Casa della Porta is an ancient palace built in the fifteenth century, according to the Gothic style. Only recently, the restorations have completed that brought back to its former glory the architectural details of the windows, arches and frames. Very soon it will become the headquarters of many craft shops started by the young people of the city.

The Medici Palace was built in 1570. This is distinguished from the others for its pure white color, wanted by the architect Vincenzo Seregni. Inside it has a square structure with a central courtyard, where the two floors decorated in stucco overlook.

The Rognoni Salvaneschi Museum is located in the homonymous house, which was built in the fourteenth century. In the museum you can admire all the heritage of the family of Alessandra Rognoni and her husband, from paintings to clothes, professional tools, embroidery and old toys. The museum is currently open to the public.

Corso Felice Cavallotti is one of the main streets of Novara. Traditions and history meet in this historic center that resembles a nineteenth-century living room.

The Ricetto Castle was built between the eleventh and fifteenth centuries by the local inhabitants to protect themselves from the attacks of the French and Spanish. The building has a rectangular structure and an area of 12,000 m². It is built on two floors: on the first floor the wines are preserved, while in the other, once used as a home, now wheat is deposited.

The Museum was founded in 1965 and has as a reason for the commemoration of the fighters of the city and the province of Novara. In a chronological way, historical events from the War of Independence to the last World War are exposed. The armory fraction preserves white and firearms, while books, photographs and documents are kept in the archive.

The Castle of Cavenago has a rectangular structure consisting of three towers. During the 16th and 17th centuries the castle was transformed into a farm. The most particular part is a small private oratory, dedicated to Santa Rosa da Lima.

Inaugurated on 23 March 1879 on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the Battle of Novara, the Ossuary of the Fallen, erected at the Bicocca, was at the center of numerous controversy. The construction was wanted by a citizens' committee who launched a subscription for this purpose. The realization of the project was characterized by numerous clashes. The oppositions and controversy continued over the years. Only on 23 November 1901, a white marble cross was blessed affixed to the monument. The shrine houses the remains of soldiers of both belligerent armies.

The building dates back to the 11th century and stands on an alluvial bump, near the town. Of all its massive 13th century structure, today we can see only three towers and a minimum part of the city walls. In the nineteenth century the Sella family became the owner of it and changed it from a castle to a noble country residence. Today the building is in good condition and is a private property.

The Museum, initially located in an eighteenth-century building, was transferred to the beautiful Villa Caccia in 2006. It was created in 1973 by the collaboration of some people who are particularly passionate about local traditions. Inside it presents different materials from everyday life. The museum also contains a library of 5,000 volumes, paintings and a historical and photographic archive.

The Bellinzago Oasis is a protected area that expands for about seven hectares. It is currently managed by WWF Italia. There you can admire a wide variety of animal species, among which we can distinguish birds, amphibians and ducks. The area is not open to the public, it is visited only for research purposes.
