Omegna is one of the many small and pretty villages located on the shores of Lake Orta. With 15,000 inhabitants it is the most populous and the most important location, since, in addition to having the tourist character, Omegna is also famous for the household industry. Alessi, the name known all over the world, Bialetti with its express moka, Lagostina and the pressure cooker, and Girmi have their offices right here (and industrial outlets), if someone wants to take advantage of it ...).

Omegna is also delicious to see. Along the lake there is a pedestrian path, which allows you to admire the view of the bay and the elegant porches and mansions, with balconies decorated with wrought-iron. Here in summer you can take the boat that will take you to Orta and the Island of San Giulio, others, mandatory to visit, tourist stops.

The best time to come here is spring and summer, and especially the last two Sundays of August, when the party is held San Vito, patron saint of the city. These days, Omegonian life, already lively, comes alive even more thanks to numerous musical shows, cultural, sports and folkloric events.

What I would like to advise you more, however, are the pyrotechnic shows, which as part of the World Fireworks Championship, accompany 10 days of the celebrations of San Vito, and that you must see them with your own eyes. It is enough to say that the arena of fireworks shows is the lake itself, above which flowers, fountains and sparks of fire of a thousand colors expand.

You can admire the show from the shores of the lake or aboard a boat, because during the performance the lake is filled with boats, yachts, dinghies, boats and others floating vehicles. As far as practical advice is concerned, they are always the same: you have to arrive early enough to be able to park your car in a 'strategic' place and find the place from which to admire it show. Unless you want to spend more time there, living in one of the beautiful hotels, which are not lacking in Omegna. So I invite you to Omegna.
