The Abbey of Santa Maria is located in Albugnano and is the most important monument in the area and the province itself. The facade of the church is in Roman style. Many additional interventions to the structure bear the name of the Ponte family. The tower, at its origins, had the shape of a rhombus and was about 30 meters high.
