The construction of the castle dates back to 452 AD. In 1430 the city of Acqui Terme and the castle were purchased by the Sforza. The Gipsoteca “G. Monteverde” was born from a nucleus of collections coming from the collections of Giulio Monteverde, donated to the Municipality of Genoa in 1919 by his daughters. The thirty works on display are organized in chronological order. In the first room there is the self-portrait of the artist created in 1917, the same year as his death. They are works of great value that attract thousands of tourists every year and all interested in the art of chalk.

The Pallavicino Castle or Morsasco was built in the highest part of the resort, from where it dominates the rest of the country and the houses. It was already present since the 13th century. Initially it had military and defensive purposes, and then it was converted into a stately home where parties and dances were held. The “Pallacorda Game Room” must be mentioned for its beauty. The castle takes its name from one of the ancient proprietary families, the Pallavicino.

The Tower of Denice is located in the middle of the town, in the province of Alessandria. As soon as you enter the city you can see the long Romanesque tower from which you can watch over the entire surrounding area.

The Malaspina Castle was built in the late '200 by Tommaso Malaspina. The building remained the property of this family until the mid-1500s, when it was unfeuded to the Doria. Having a structure like that of a medieval fortress, it has resisted many damages. From its terrace you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the Alps chain.

The Castle of Tagliolo is one of the fortresses in the best conditions of Alto Monferrato. It is characterized by a square-shaped tower dating back to the 10th century, which was used to spot the possible arrivals of the invaders. Today, the Castle houses a winery that has been producing wines of great quality for five hundred years.

The Nature Collection is located in the Town Hall. Inside it, it preserves more than eight hundred specimens of embalmed animals, including mammals and birds. Currently, the exhibition needs a new venue for reasons concerning the exhibition space, and since 2001 a new location is being planned.

Currently used as headquarters of the province and of the prefecture, this elegant palace was built in 1733 on the basis of Benedetto Alfieri's project. Regarded as one of the most beautiful buildings in town, its forms are clearly baroque.
