Civica Raccolta d'Arte

The Civic Art Collection is located on the main floor of the Palazzo Fossa Mancini. Here it is possible to admire stuccoes, canvases and frescoes from the eighteenth century. There are also some Roman and medieval epigraphs. Of great importance is a fresco by the painter Andrea da Jesi from the fifteenth century. A municipal wine shop has also been attached to the museum where you can taste the typical wines of the area.

The museum was founded in 1984, and had several locations, which were then abandoned. It was reopened in 2006 due to the Verdicchio Festival of Montecarotto, which is held once a year. In the gallery we find a collection of Mail Art, created by artists such as Vittorio Baccelli, Walter Pennacchi, Emilio Morandi, Anna Boschi and many others. It was Professor Bugatti who collected all these wonderful works over the years and then donated them to the museum.

Palazzo Pianetti

Palazzo Pianetti was built around the 19th century. This is built in Rococo style, but it is not noticeable from the outside, in fact the facade is very simple and linear. The interiors, however, are particularly rich and colourful. Today it is used as a Pinacoteca and is home to the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Palazzo Colucci was the residence of the Marquises Colucci, who adapted it to the current form between the 16th and 17th centuries. In addition, in the eighteenth century, it was modified again. Piazza Federico II is located in the city of Jesi in the province of Ancona. The old town has undergone some changes from the 17th to the 18th century. The square, built in memory of the great Emperor, has a rectangular shape. At the center of the square is a fountain, the work of the great artists Raffaele Grilli and Luigi Amici.

Oasi Naturalistica di Ripa Bianca

The Ripa Bianca Nature Reserve covers an area of 310 hectares and is entrusted to the management of WWF Italia. Inside is the educational and naturalistic area “Sergio Romagnoli” established in 1997. The reserve has about 150 species of birds including the heron. The vegetation instead preserves a multitude of tree species including various types of willow and poplar.

The Forest of Frasassi or Gola della Rossa Natural Park is one of the most beautiful protected areas in the Marche region. The Forest covers about 9170 hectares and involves different municipalities on the Apennine side of the Province of Ancona. The Hedgehog is the symbol of the Natural Park, which is also known for the presence of two royal eagles.

The Municipal Art Gallery is located inside the rooms of the Palazzo dei Conventuali. In the museum you can admire different sacred objects that come from the churches of the Anconetano. There are also canvas paintings, such as those of the great painter of the Roman school Andrea Sacchi. Among the works, the oldest one is the image of a Madonna with Child built in polychrome terracotta.

Grotte di Frasassi

Discovered in 1971 they are karst caves and are considered a real attraction for the Marche region. They are located in the Gola della Rossa Regional Natural Park. The caves are open 11 months a year, in January they are closed.

Museo Archeologico Statale

The Museum, located in the complex of S. Francesco, was opened in 1996.
