Saronno is located twenty-five kilometers from Milan, in the heart of the northern industrial zone. But it is well known, thanks to the bitter Disaronno, based on almonds, which comes from here. It is also worth tasting macaroons, almond biscuits, which also come from this city, but in recent times they are produced not only with the almonds, but also with the taste of lemon and orange, in a soft form.

The old town is rather small, but you can take a nice walk. From the station, or from the town hall it takes a few minutes to reach the Piazza del Duomo, where the pedestrian zone of the city begins. Here you will find the numerous shops, cafes, restaurants. Just outside the center, but not far away is the Sanctuary, which is worth seeing! Saronno also has a theater, where there are often national dance groups.

In Saronno, locomotives were previously produced, so it is also possible to visit a Railway Museum. In the Giuseppe Gianetti Museum, porcelain, ceramics and majolica objects from local industries are on display.
