Oasi Rifugio Bosco di Montorfano

The Oasis of the Bosco di Montorfano Hut covers an area of 4 hectares. Since 1990, a series of works began to renaturate the oasis, enriching it with typical plants of the Po Valley. Within the area, three main bands of vegetation were created: the first with hygrophilous species, the second subject to periodic flooding, and finally the drier one. As for the fauna, there are several species of amphibians. The Oasis can be visited and guided views are also organized.

Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro

The Foundation of Arnaldo Pomodoro was founded in 1995 by the will of the great Italian artist and sculptor who decided to establish a foundation with the intent of being a place for study and comparison of the avant-garde themes contemporary. There have been numerous offices scattered around Lombardy that have received great interest from art professionals and also from visitors. Currently, the property has moved to Via Vigevano 9, near the Navigli Darsena in Milan. Since 2007, the Foundation has been recognized as the Museum of the Lombardy Region.

The fortress was owned by the Trivulzio family who gave it, in 1836, to the Visconti di Modrone. This family owes the various structural extensions as well as the reconstructions of the interior spaces. The building has brick walls that enclose a square courtyard with towers placed at the corners of the structure.

Mura Spagnole

The construction of the Spanish walls took place between 1548 and 1562, at the behest of Ferrante I Gonzaga, governor at the time of the city, when he was under Spanish rule. Rotonda della Besana

It is a structure in late Baroque style, the work of the architects Arrigoni, Croce and Raffagno. Its construction dates back to the 17th century, initially it was a cemetery for the dead of the Ca' Granda. The original core of the complex is the church which has a plan in the shape of a cross. An octagonal dome crowned by the slender lantern rises at the intersection of the arms. Since 1958 the complex has been owned by the Municipality and is often used as an exhibition space for exhibitions, screenings and cultural events.

The Ospedale Maggiore holds well over 2800 artistic goods, including paintings, sculptures and objects dating back to the XVI-XXI centuries. Museo Paleontologico Archeologico

The Paleontological Archaeological Museum is located in the Palazzo Comunale. The museum was built in 1979 by Dr. Virginio Caccia, who was very passionate about paleontology. The materials are divided into some rooms among which two rooms are destined for the paleontological section while the others are for finds such as: tableware, anaphora and mosaics. It is currently located in the property of the Municipality.

Ca' Granda

The building was designed by the Florentine architect Filarete, and is famous because it was one of the first Renaissance buildings in Milan. The construction was started in the mid-'400 on commission of the Duke of Milan, with the aim of providing the city with a single large hospital for the hospitalization and care of the sick. Although built in the Baroque era, the 300-meter-long façade has the fifteenth-century decorative elements. Today the building is home to the University of Milan.

Palazzo Arcivescovile

The Archbishop's Palace is located in Piazza Fontana and is the work of several architects. Over the centuries the palace has been rebuilt many times, and today only a part that preserves medieval architecture and a hamlet with decorations have remained intact. Naviglio Grande

The Naviglio was born by taking water from Ticino and ends up in the dock of Porta Ticinese. It has a length of 49.9 km and a width ranging from 22 to 50 meters. It was the first work of its kind ever made in Europe and is the most important among the Navigli in Milan. Originally it was not navigable and was used only for irrigation, but with the end of the enlargement work in 1272, by Maestro G. Arribotti, the channel became navigable and facilitated the transport of goods of agriculture.
