Lombardy, Ponte di Legno
Ponte di Legno is a tiny village that has maintained intact its ancient charm integrating modern tourism needs.
We ventured out to explore this mountain resort that is known as the first Italian ski resort and its variety and quality for skiers, Ponte di Legno offers runs at various levels, each equipped with artificial snow and served by several modern lifts that offers tourists an unforgettable ski immersed in the heart of the Rhaetian Alps.
The cable car that connects in less than fifteen minutes of the ski resort of Ponte di Legno with that of the Passo Tonale is one of the longest in Europe and can be admired in its entirety and beauty of our mountains, from the Castellaccio Lagoscuro. The fun is guaranteed, even for snowboarders and for children.
Another cable car from Passo Tonale leads to Presena, where skiing is at home until spring. In this area there is one of the longest tracks across Europe, from 3000 meters to 1256 meters of the glacier Presena to Ponte di Legno, 11 km uninterrupted ski descent of fun.
In total, you can ski on more than 100 km of ski runs served by 30 modern ski lifts that make Ponte di Legno the largest ski resort in Lombardy. Needless to say, a weekend was not enough to experience all of these tracks!
For those wishing to engage in other activities there are numerous ski touring routes, good cross-country ski trails, two ice skating rinks, a school of Dog Sledding, to experience the thrill of being pulled by huskies school, rentals snowmobile, an indoor pool ... I could not resist the appeal of a sleigh ride! A unique and relaxing after a day of intense skiing.
For a little shopping we headed towards the square of Ponte di Legno, an elegant living room with its fashionable shops ranging from high fashion to typical products. After the appetizer, you'll be spoiled for choice among the many restaurants serving local dishes skilfully with a modern twist. I should also point out the rich hospitality with hotels, residences and apartments ,meeting all kind of needs. A place to visit!
