The charming town of Limone sul Garda is located in Lombardy in the north of Italy. The town is perhaps most famous for Lago di Garda or 'Lake Garda', Italy's largest lake. The beautiful Lake Garda is surrounded by mountains and is home to olive and citrus trees which create a stunning and lush landscape.
 

A walk or hike around this lake is both rewarding and beautiful, many painters holiday here for the interesting landscapes. From Limone you can visit other small towns such as Isola del Garda, Isola dei Conigli, otherwise known as 'Island of the Rabbits', and the pretty Isola dell'Olivo.
 

If you're holidaying with children then a day-trip to Italy's most famous theme park Gardaland is certainly in order. For foodie's Limone, named for the lemon fruit, has many Italian eateries serving fresh, tasty traditional produce. The population of Limone are well-known for having very healthy life expectancies due to their rich, nutritious diets. Limone was only reachable via the lake until the 1940s when a road was built allowing access, so it has only recently become a tourist attraction. Limone's popularity looks set to grow further due to it's breathtaking scenery, mild climate and good food.
