It is located in the bay of Lake Maggiore, near Mount Sasso del Ferro at an altitude of 1100 mt. above sea level.

From the center you can admire a beautiful overview of the lake, you can make interesting excursions, as well as admire places of historical artistic interest.

In the center of Laveno there is the church of Sant'Ambrogio built in 1935, and a few steps from the church is Villa De Angeli Frua, built in the middle of the '700 originally owned by the Lavanese dei Tinelli family, inside the Villa there are centuries-old plants typical of Lake Maggiore.

Another interesting place is Cerro, a hamlet of Laveno Mombello, where the Palazzo Perabò is located as well as the International Museum of Ceramic Design. In it you can admire the pottery works, sculptures and panels by artists of the past as well as modern and contemporary artists.

Another interesting place is Mount Sasso del Ferro, to which you can reach it with the historic cable car of Laveno. The system is composed of the two-seater cabins. At the mountain you can admire a spectacular view to leave you breathless.

In addition, lovers of good food can taste numerous dishes of traditional Lombard cuisine at the Lo Scoiattolo restaurant. At the mountain there is a gliding and paragliding take-off. The food and wine specialty of Laveno is honey. In Laveno Mombello they produce wildflower honey, acaccia honey and chestnut honey.

The Mirasole farmhouse offers organic herbs, genuine cuisine and inside it also has a farm and riding school. From Laveno the ferry starts to Intra, Verbania, from where you can go to the Borromeo Islands and other places of the Lake.

Laveno has two railways, one connects the city with Milan, another with Luino and Novara. Malpensa airport is placed in 30 km from the villa.
