The Cathedral of Bergamo is the main place of Catholic worship in the city. Dedicated to Saint Alexander patron, it is located in the upper city. In front of the facade of the cathedral, on the opposite side of Piazza del Duomo, is the baptistery.

In Piazza del Duomo, in front of the Basilica, stands the Baptistery. Built in 1340, inside the basilica by Giovanni da Campione, it was then married in 1900 at the current headquarters in the center of the square. Octagonal, it has eight fourteenth-century statues depicting the three theological virtues and the four Cardinal Virtues with the addition of an eighth virtue, Patience.

The most known and popular part of Bergamo Alta is Piazza Vecchia, with the Contarini fountain, the Palazzo della Ragione, the Civic Tower, which still today at 10 pm hits 100 shots - those that in the past announced the closing of the gates of the Venetian walls at night.

The Museum was opened in 1918, and was named after Enrico Caffi, his first director. It is a large collection of specimens of a lepidotterological, ornithological, malacological character, in addition to a vast teaching material. Inside you can admire closely exhibitions from the world of zoology, paleontology, geology and many other scientific research. Today, the museum is open for all interested parties.

The Palazzo della Ragione is a historic building in the city of Bergamo. Located in the upper city, and home to the Angelo Mai Civic Library, it was built at the end of the twelfth century.

The library was established in 1768, initially composed of the book collection of Cardinal Alessandro Giuseppe Furietti. The collection is arranged within the sixteenth-century Palazzo Nuovo, and contains more than 730,000 pieces of documents, volumes, photos, prints and numerous written testimonies of the cultural life of the city. Over the years, the structure was expanded with new materials, thanks to the continuous donations and purchases of the library itself. Today, the library is the primary institution for the collection and preservation of Bergamo's book heritage.

The Historical Museum of Bergamo is located in the convent of San Francesco, within which we can find remarkable testimonies of Bergamo's Risorgimento history, starting from the mid-17th century until World War II. In addition, the Museum offers ample space for temporary exhibitions and exhibitions and is also an educational place where various studies and research are carried out.

The castle of Urgnano was built by Archbishop Giovanni, in 1354, after his brother Luchino Visconti died. Over the centuries he had several owners, finally passing, once and for all, to the municipality. The building has a quadrilateral shape with four towers at the end. To make it difficult to attack enemies, he is surrounded by the moat. It has two entrances, one to the north and the other on the other side, and is built entirely of terracotta. Inside it is divided in half, to the west there is the courtyard, to the east the roof garden.

The Carpenter Museum was inaugurated on 20 June 1987 within the company complex. Its founder was Tino Sana, who wanted to tell the story of his trade. The history of the carpenter is narrated with the shops that present the various crafts of woodworking, with vintage equipment and machinery built of wood and with lathes from 1600, 1700 and 1800. The museum also contains a rich exhibition of bicycles, such as the wooden ones of the 800-900, as well as jerseys and trophies by Felice Gimondi, a former Italian road cyclist and sports director to whom the salon.

The Church of St. Thomas in Lemine or Rotonda di San Tomè, or only San Tomè as is more generally known, is located in the municipality of Almenno San Bartolomeo. It is an ecclesial building with a circular plan in Romanesque-Bergamo style dating back to the first half of the twelfth century, dedicated to Saint Thomas.

The African Museum is located inside the rooms of the convent of Basella di Urgnano, built in 1984 by the Passionists. The Museum exhibits objects from schools and craft workshops in Kenya and Tanzania.

The “Severo Sini” Natural Museum was founded in 1973 by the naturalist and passionate about natural sciences, Mr. Sini. The Museum houses a large number of minerals, fossils, animals and herbs, collected since 1947. A beautiful malacological section contains shells from the seas around the world.

The Romanesque degli Almenno Park is an itinerary of great artistic and cultural interest that crosses the territory of Almenno San Bartolomeo and Almenno San Salvatore. The territory houses four churches, jewels of Romanesque and post-Romanesque architecture: the Church of S. Tommaso in Lemine, the Parish Church of Madonna del Castello, the Church of S. Giorgio and S. Maria della Consolation.

The church of San Giorgio in Lemine is located in the municipality of Almenno San Salvatore. It is a Romanesque ecclesial building with a basilica structure with three naves, dating back to the XI-XII century, which is part of the Romanesque cycle typical of medieval Bergamo art.

The Brembo River is a 74 km stream, tributary to the left of the Adda, which flows completely in the Province of Bergamo. The river passes from different municipalities in the Imagna Valley and you can easily observe in Almenno San Salvatore.

The Castle of Cavernago was erected between 1243 and 1470. It was purchased by the famous leader Bartolomeo Colleoni. Its structure is square but has typical elements of a military fortification. Currently, it is the property of Prince Gonzaga of Vescovate.

The Castle of Malpaga was purchased in 1456 by Bartolomeo Colleoni. He restored it with the aim of making it a private residence, but eventually it became a fortress. Inside the Castle there were special frescoes from different eras and important artists.

The castle was built around 1000. Initially, it was thought to have the function of controlling the road to the city of Brescia. Over the years the construction has become fragmented because it was sold several times. Today it has been restructured thanks to the investment of the current owner, Cav. Ambrogio Magni.

The Civic Collections of History are located on the first floor of a building built in the '500, in the city center. Everything is exhibited in two rooms in which you can admire paintings, made by local artists. Thanks to the historical exhibition, you have the opportunity to learn about the history of the origins of the city.

The Sanctuary of Madonna della Cornabusa is located at an altitude of about 700m, almost hidden in the stream, and looks like a cave. The name 'Cornabusa' comes from two words in Bergamo dialect: 'Corna' which means rock and 'Busa' which means hole. The sanctuary originated in the second half of 1400 when a deaf-mute girl from birth discovered the statue of the Virgin Mary in the cave during a thunderstorm.

The Orobie Bergamasche Park is a mountain forest park that, with an area of about 70,000 hectares, represents the largest area with high naturalness among the Lombardy regional parks. The park consists of impressive mountain reliefs and is the realm of eagles, ibex and breathtaking views.
