Melendugno is located halfway between Lecce and Otranto, in Salento, a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast. The country is dedicated to agriculture and fishing, but its fame and wealth are linked to tourism and to small but beautiful villages located on the sea, such as San Foca, Torre dell'Orso, Sant'Andrea and Rocca, which attract, in fact, numerous tourists looking for the crystal clear sea and beautiful beaches.

There are two things that are not lacking in the area: beaches and historical and artistic structures. Here you will find beaches that extend for about 12 km and offer stretches of golden sand that alternate with cliffs rich in coves. Added to these are stacks, ancient caves and the emerald sea that together create a suggestive and picturesque show.

Those who have the soul of Indiana Jones and would like to explore the hinterland will surely find interesting testimonies of the past. The dolmen found in the Melendugno countryside talk about it and traces of the Messapian civilization found in the marine cave called Little Poetry.

No less beautiful and interesting is the characteristic historic center of Melendugno that houses the, the castle Petraroli and the Abbey of San Niceta, three beautiful historic buildings much visited.
